How you find a house full of hunger strikers

nolaworkerscenter | May 24, 2008

If you didn’t know where the hunger striker supporters’ meeting was, this would be a good clue.

After a sunny day in front of the Indian Embassy, the workers gathered at the hunger strikers’ apartment (one of two in the city — the other is for supporters) to plan the coming week’s events.

The workers discussed political strategy, events here and in India, press coverage, and how to meet their goals. And Mr. Paul Konar, the only remaining hunger striker who began the fast on Mar 14 and has not been hospitalized, was as strong as ever.
