Read about the campaigns we’re prioritizing in 2026:

WE ARE NOT DISPOSABLE
Too many workers are treated as disposable: hired and fired at random, and denied the stability and protections that other workers have. We Are Not Disposable organizes temp, gig, seasonal, and other precarious workers to challenge an economy that depends on unstable work while leaving workers without power.
Our restaurant worker campaign: Check please!
New Orleans can’t run without the service industry. From servers and bartenders to dishwashers and line cooks, service workers deserve safe workplaces, fair pay, predictable scheduling, and respect on the job. We're organizing alongside service workers to address workplace issues while building long-term worker power across the industry.

POLICY & ADVOCACY
The Workers’ Center has a long history of advocating for and enforcing pro-worker policies at the municipal and state levels. We focus on raising standards and protections for workers and removing barriers to opportunity. Our members help lead policy strategy and research projects, and we often collaborate with coalition partners on additional research and reports.

Fighting for workers' rights
winning with workers for 20 years
For nearly twenty years, we've fought, and won, alongside workers. Together, we've recovered stolen wages, raised standards under city contracts, expanded local hiring, and won protections for workers across New Orleans. We organize workers to take on exploitative employers, change public policy, and build the collective power needed to win racial and economic justice.
